One of my guilty pleasures is Amazon shopping. I don’t get out on my own much these days, but there’s always time to pop online and see what might catch my fancy. You know, I remember when they sold just books, but that was way back in the baby days of the internet. Now they have everything! Sometimes, when I feel like a treat, I’ll search all the jewelry for anything that is $5 or less, and then let myself pick any one thing that I want. Sometimes I make it more of a game by adding a certain key word that has to fit.
Like, I’ll search for jewelry under five dollars with the word horse and then I can only pick from those things that come up. I try to make the key word something that relates to the day, or why I’m getting a treat in the first place. The other day, because I lost five pounds, I played this game and made the key word pie, since I don’t get to have any while I’m on my diet. Ha! Of course, I buy practical things too. I don’t just sit around playing jewelry buying games all day every day. Probably 99% of the stuff that I buy is actually for my husband and the kids.
Things to Do
Playing golf, sea fishing off the beach or rocks, or deep sea fishing, full or half day trips available from the harbour booking offices, coarse fishing for tench, bream or hunt the specimen carp at a few location within 5 miles of Newquay. If none of these take your fancy just laze on one of Newquay’s golden beaches, or take to the cliff tops and walk the coastal footpaths all of which have splendid scenery and views.
